Charity support
In addition to our routine support of several local and national animal charities, often by providing subsidised veterinary services, Aireworth Vets also runs specific fund-raising events.
At the height of Summer 2010, members of staff from Aireworth Vets successfully tackled the infamous Yorkshire 'Three Peaks' for charity. This demanding route includes the highest summits in the Yorkshire dales. The total distance is 24.5 miles (39.2km) and includes over 5,000 feet (1,600 metres) of climbing.
Our team of walkers included Vets, Nurses, Animal Care Assistants, Equine Team Members and Support People.
The photo shows some of the Aireworth Vets staff and their (rescue) dogs and kittens. From Left to Right:
Standing: Phil Emerson, Siobhan Keenan, Kirsten Pantenburg, Angie (Keighley Cat Care), Jenny Booth, James Credland, Tom Woods, Alice Macnab, Kylie Hargreaves, Sarah Heaton, Sandy Tayler, Nicky Green, Jeni Dobson.
Seated: Christina Goodall, Carli Mathias, Caroline Nugent (Keighley Cat Care), Emma Hepworth, Barbara Sykes (FoSTBC).
With your kind support we raised £3205 which was distributed between the following local charities for animals (and people) in need:
* The Freedom of Spirit Trust for Border Collies
* Keighley Cat Care
* RSPCA Craven & Upper Wharfedale Branch (rescue and re-homing)
* Riding for the Disabled (several local centres)
* Sue Ryder Care - Manorlands Hospice
Many thanks to all the clients, friends and families who sponsored our walkers; as well as several local and national businesses.
